Some Favorite New Dishes

We've been on a roll cooking-wise! Kit and I have even managed to look through the pantry better and figure out what we can make with a minimal grocery list. I guess I should say "I" in the previous sentence since Kit could make something great from nothing...me -- I haven't quite acquired that skill yet. Someday.

We've also been auditioning cookbooks before we buy them. The latest one that we got from the library and LOVE enough to purchase is The Vegan Table. The flavors are wonderful. The directions are clear. The end result is a delicious meal.

We've only had one dish (and we've made over 10) from the book be a family flop; I think this only happened because Kit LOVES Dal and it called for split peas instead of lentils.

Garlic and Greens Soup with homemade bread (from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day) I swear this soup made me feel like a super hero after eating it and helped me stave off a cold.
