Kai = Ocean (in Hawaiian, that is)

The name Kai means a lot of things one of which is "ocean" in Hawaiian. Kai enjoys his beach vacations very much but seems to have a healthy respect for the ocean. He knows it is more powerful than he is. Most days, he is content to build sand castles, dig holes and play in the waves as they rush towards the shore carrying tiny sea creatures. Speaking of sea creatures, he enjoys digging in the sand where the waves meet the shore to find copepods.

This year, Kit managed to get him out into the ocean. 

 Kai is already looking ahead to next year at the beach!
