Sledding on Jurgens Hill, Arthur, Illinois

Living on the flatlands of Central Illinois, I went searching high and low to find a hill for our son, Kai, to experience sledding for the first time. Yesterday, such a hill was found in Kit's hometown of Arthur, Illinois. Please don't laugh...or be shocked...okay, you can be shocked...I cannot even bring myself to call this a "hill." Kai LOVED it though so that is all that matters.

I took Kai down the hill the first few times. After his first run he said, "That was great! Let's do it again, and Again and AGAIN!" This is a huge deal for Kai; he doesn't even like slides. Here are a few shots of the event.

After multiple runs down the "hill" followed by a snowball fight with his dad and cousin, Benjamin, Kai looked the part of an experienced sledder.

Norah, however, tired of waiting for her turn on the sled fell asleep in the car -- all cozy and warm in her baby legs, fleece outfit and overalls with fleece lining! Aie!!!

  1. Ah, the BEST thing about sledding is the exhaustion that follows...
