Into the Woods...9/13 & 9/27

Walking in the woods in September feels so good. The bugs are fading away and the foliage is a little less thick, which makes walking with little ones a lot easier. It's been fun watching Norah start to explore more on her own with our wood walking friends; Kai is at school during our morning walks. The snack bag still has to come out immediately when we enter the woods since in her mind walking in the woods = snack time.

Norah approaches one of everyone's favorite balancing logs. Note: her elbow is crooked out to the side as she reaches into her snack bag.

Another favorite fallen log...this one is hollowed out. Norah has yet to climb through it like her friends do. She likes to peek out from it though.

Dirt smudged cheek from exploring

Busey Woods has quite a number of vernal ponds. For most of the year, they have been filled with water, which is unusual. However, FINALLY by the end of September, they had dried up enough for the kids to crawl around underneath them. Norah really enjoyed peeking up at the adults gathered on the bridge.
