Lazy Labor Day - From the Woods to the Water

The Morning...
We started the day with our usual Monday morning walk in the woods. It was an extra special hike today, because not only was Daddy able to join us but so was Kai (who just started school a week or so earlier); his friend who goes to school was also able to walk with us too. Yea! The woods was still warm, but it was a little less buggy. I have to admit that walking in the woods with lots of bugs biting is not ideal. I love the woods...the bugs...not so much.

Norah is finally really getting how to climb. Her confidence and balance have improved so much. She doesn't want an adult to hold on to her the whole time she is walking/climbing up a fallen log anymore.

Both kids enjoy checking out what is growing on leaves and logs. In fact, one of their finds led Kit to try out a new mustache or rather Mr. Potato Head inspired mouth. Photo below.

The Afternoon...

We met up with the Condill cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and very good friends for an afternoon of fun poolside. The kids had a blast swimming, trying to soak the adults with water noodles and just relaxing by the pool together in the warm afternoon sun. It was the perfect way to spend the rest of the day.

Norah dons her poolside attitude...working water wings and sunglasses like no one else can!

Relaxing on a huge hammock together...

The usual suspects...soaking up one last lazy afternoon before the craziness of pumpkin season begins!
