Kai Turns 4!

On June 17th, Kai turned 4 years old. For his birthday, we wanted to give him a special experience rather than a bunch of gifts. So, we celebrated by going to St. Louis to visit the St. Louis Zoo & The Magic House the weekend before his birthday. We had a blast!


However, if you ask Kai about his trip to St. Louis, he won't tell you about all the cool animals he saw OR the Shape Scape masterpiece he created at the Magic House. No, no, no...he will tell you about the fire alarm at the hotel that was pulled by...(said with much disgust by Kai) teenagers. Aie!!! Yes. The fire alarm was pulled at a little before 4 AM. Yes. We all got out of the hotel as easy as pie. We even managed to grab our keys so that we could sit in the car while we waited for the firemen to give the all clear. Once we were allowed back in the hotel, the poor desk clerk wasn't able to reset the alarm. It had been pulled during its reset so it got all messed up. So, we sat outside our hotel room in the hallway for another hour until it was turned off. The next morning parents were walking around like zombies with bouncy, edgy kids who were NEVER able to go back to sleep. Fun times.



The next weekend, Kai had a Batman themed family birthday party. Once again, his Aunt Ginny outdid herself on the cake. Not only did it look hip, it tasted great. Kai's favorite gift was a Batman costume from his Uncle Buck & Aunt Shana. All the kids enjoyed being Batman.
