1st Grade!

Oh what a difference one year makes! Kai was really excited to start 1st grade. He had the typical butterflies about what his teacher would be like, how it would be not to have all his friends in his class and all the other usual first day questions. 

We started the day with his favorite breakfast -- pancakes and vegan sausage.

We took the first day of school pictures - alone, with dad and with mom.

And, of course, we took the yearly walking to school back pack shot!

As per Kai's request, Phoebe came to pick him up from school!

The best thing he said about the year so far..."At writing center today, I made my teacher a card. It said 'I  love 1st Grade Mrs. Henry.' I capitalized the letter M, remembered the period and capitalized the letter H in her name." Yea, Kai!
